A 36-year-old woman violently hit her head in an attraction at the Wave Island water park in Monteux (Vaucluse).

The victim descended on a buoy the toboggan called "The infernal spheres", 155 m long, last Thursday.

She was with a child on the boat which overturned, says France Bleu Vaucluse.

Relatives of the young woman said they wanted to file a complaint against the park.

They indeed affirmed that the persons in charge for the site had refused to call the assistance whereas the thirty-year-old was bleeding profusely.

The family then decided to take the victim to the hospital in Carpentras (Vaucluse) themselves.

artificial coma

In a condition deemed serious, the patient was placed there in an artificial coma and then helicoptered to Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), where she was operated on.

His life is no longer in danger but sequelae are to be feared.

The management of Wave Island, for its part, explained that it had called the emergency services, which would have deemed it unnecessary to intervene.
