An agent from the Badalona Urban Guard and
an off-duty mossos d'esquadra
yesterday rescued a three-year-old boy who was alone, naked and crying on a balcony in Badalona (Barcelona).
The incident has been denounced this Saturday morning by the former mayor of the city, the popular Xavier García Albiol, on social networks,
where he has posted a video
in which the police action is seen and in which he demands responsibilities from the city council and the Generalitat before what it describes as "savage".
In the video, the child can be seen on a
small
balcony with the blinds apparently closed, who is naked and who is crying.
An ambulance from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) is positioned just below the balcony and, from the roof of the vehicle, an
agent from the Guardia Urbana and an
off-duty constable manage to reach the child, who they take out in their arms, finally passing him to the toilets, who put him in the ambulance to treat him.
After the commotion caused on social networks, the third deputy mayor for Personal Protection and Commercial Promotion of the Badalona City Council, David Torrents (JxCat), has confirmed the facts on his Twitter account and
has charged García Albiol,
assuring that it is "disgusting" to publish the video of the minor.
According to Torrents, the events occurred yesterday on Canonge Baranera street and, although he does not specify
whether the minor was alone at home
or where his parents were while the child was rescued, he assures that
"in principle everything was accidental"
and that the Services Social "are on top (of the case) since yesterday."
According to García-Albiol, the boy had been locked up on the balcony for an hour until he could be rescued.
