According to Yang Xiaoguang, deputy secretary-general of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government and director of the Municipal Health Commission, according to the date of diagnosis of the confirmed cases of people who came to Chengdu on July 22, this round of epidemic is called the "7.22" epidemic.
At present, the genetic sequencing of the first case of the "7.22" epidemic has been completed, and the result is the Omicron variant BA.2.38, which is two independent transmission chains from the previous "7.15" epidemic in Chengdu, and they are not related to each other. .
Fan Shuangfeng, director of the Emergency Office of the Chengdu Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that due to the strong transmission of the Omicron BA.2.38 variant, it has caused large-scale epidemics in many parts of the country.
After the case arrived in Chengdu, the commercial company and logistics park stayed for a long time. The above areas are all densely populated places, which have caused secondary cases, and positive infections will still be detected among close contacts in the future.
