Nikola Djurdjic was caught on camera when he was at a nightclub in Stockholm on Saturday evening, less than a day before Degerfors' away game against Sirius in Uppsala.

Djurdjic apologizes

When the association became aware of the incident, Djurdjic was kicked out of the match squad.

Now he apologizes in a statement on Degerfors' website.

"I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches and above all the club's supporters.

I realize that being seen out the day before a match is not appropriate, and therefore I apologise," he writes and continues:

"Last week I broke my judgement, and even though I didn't drink a drop of alcohol, I understood that it was inappropriate to be out the night before the game.

Bottom team Degerfors will next meet Mjällby away on Saturday evening.
