China News Service, Hong Kong, July 22. The theme lecture "Hong Kong under 'One Country, Two Systems': Past, Present and Future" was held in Hong Kong on the 21st. Many well-known experts and scholars attended and discussed "One Country, Two Systems" from different perspectives.

  This event is jointly organized by Hong Kong Local History Center and Zhonghua Book Company.

Liu Zhipang, Convenor of the Editorial Committee of the Hong Kong Center for Local Chronicles and Associate Vice-President (Academic and External Relations) of Lingnan University, took "the historical background of Hong Kong and the process of return" as the theme. The so-called changes are only minor adjustments to the details of the operation of "One Country, Two Systems", all of which are made in a direction that is conducive to the overall development of the country and the well-being of most people in Hong Kong.

  Huang Yushan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council and Emeritus President of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, said that the four keys to making "One Country, Two Systems" stable and long-term include: 1. Central support; 2. All sectors of Hong Kong have a correct understanding of "One Country, Two Systems" and the relationship between the Constitution and the Hong Kong Basic Law 3. The SAR government must do something to resolve the long-term deep-seated contradictions in Hong Kong; 4. All sectors of Hong Kong must work together to develop the economy.

  Liu Peiqiong, a specially invited professor of the School of Business Administration of Hong Kong Baptist University, "Speaks with Numbers", and the theme of his speech is "Hong Kong's Achievements and Prospects in the 25 Years of Return to China".

She believes that Hong Kong must seize the opportunity of the country's 14th Five-Year Plan to better integrate into the country's overall development.

Hong Kong's advantage lies in its "back to the motherland and connectivity to the world", so it is necessary to strengthen economic cooperation with ASEAN and "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership" (RCEP) countries and regions.

  Chen Kunyao, honorary professor of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Hong Kong, pointed out that modern professional services such as the common law system, legal mediation and arbitration, and intellectual property protection are all advantages of Hong Kong, which will help promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
