Small thinning in July for Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne.

The popularity rating of the President of the Republic is up five points in July, with 43% of favorable opinion, just like that of the Prime Minister, who has increased by eight points, to 49%, according to a BVA poll for RTL and Orange released on Friday.

After declining popularity in June (39%) following a complicated post-legislative sequence, the Head of State is progressing in particular among 18-34 year olds (43%, +11).

Borne refuels with left-wing sympathizers

In detail, he retains a solid base of support within his camp (99% of LREM sympathizers appreciate him) but can also count on the goodwill of LR sympathizers (51%, +1), PS (39%, + 1) and EELV (38%, +2).

Elisabeth Borne also sees her popularity rating increase significantly, returning to the level that was hers at the time of her appointment.

She enjoys a better image than the head of state with left-wing supporters, especially those who feel close to the PS (54%) and EELV (43%), but LFI supporters reject her just as much as Emmanuel Macron.

It is also very well perceived by LR sympathizers (58% of good opinions).

A new composition of the assembly which goes to 58% of the French

In addition, for 58% of the French (+2), the new composition of the Assembly is a good thing, in particular for sympathizers LFI (77%) and RN (79%).

But 71% of those questioned believe that most often, opposition MPs should try to negotiate with the majority to bring about compromises, only 28% preferring that they oppose more systematically.

Unsurprisingly, LFI sympathizers mostly (55%) want opposition deputies to be in a posture of rejection, while PS (82%) and EELV (82%) sympathizers very much want a compromise to be sought with the government.

Finally, 39% of French people want Marine Le Pen to have more influence in political life in the future (+2).

It is the opposition figure who enjoys the highest influence rating, far ahead of Jean Luc Mélenchon (25%, -1).
