The public company Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), an entity chaired by the mayor

Ada Colau,

has vetoed a campaign by the Catalan Civil Society (SCC) in which it recalls the values of coexistence and union in Spain that surrounded the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, which celebrate their 30th anniversary this month.

"Let's recover coexistence" is intended to be a tribute and vindication of

the Barcelona '92 spirit

as an international promotion of Barcelona and the Spain brand.

The public company of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) alleges that the campaign does not conform to the types of advertising actions contemplated in its regulations.

An argument that SCC refutes pointing out that the campaign is an

allegation in favor of values such as understanding and solidarity

through the exaltation of a sporting event that allowed the transformation of the city and its projection to the world.

"Both the content and the image of the posters are respectful of citizens and institutions," says SCC in a press release.

SCC recalls that the metropolitan entity in recent years has agreed to place advertising on its buses for advertising campaigns "with an obvious partisan and ideological bias", as is the case with the campaigns of Òmnium Cultural

Ho tornarem a fer,

of 2019, and

Amnesty , ara

!, from 2020. Both posters violated TMB regulations that, in theory, exclude the advertising of ideological messages.

In this sense, SCC states that it is clear that TMB applies "

double standards"

depending on whether the advertising campaign comes from a nationalist or constitutionalist entity.
