A
plane from the Condor company
, which was flying from the Canary Island to
Hamburg
(Germany), suffered an
engine failure
as soon as it took off and had to make an
emergency landing
, reports
Canarias 7
.
The events occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Moments after taking off from the runway, a rumble and small explosions could be heard, as witnesses have reported to local media.
"It was an incredible scare," one of them told La Voz de Lanzarote, who saw the plane from Playa Honda.
"Explosions were heard and flames were seen coming out of one of the engines. It was crazy
," he said.
Once the emergency landing was made,
firefighters approached
the aircraft on the runway to put out the fire.
The incident
has not caused injuries
and the traffic of the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote resumed shortly after.
Last January, another plane from the Condor company suffered a very similar incident, also after taking off from Lanzarote.
