Lukashenka explains why he supports Russia's decision on a special operation in Ukraine

His words are quoted by the Belarusian state agency BELTA.

He noted that he really supports Russia, "and not only because" Belarus has an alliance with Russia.

“The reason is that if Russia hadn’t got ahead of you, the NATO members, you would have organized and struck a blow against it.

I believe in it, and Russia believes in it.

And so it would be,” Lukashenka said.

The Belarusian president also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "just got a little ahead" of the West.

Lukashenka noted that this is the position of Russia and Belarus.

In addition, Lukashenko called for an end to the conflict in Ukraine in order to avoid a nuclear war.
