An accountant based in Nandy (Seine-et-Marne) was recently arrested after a long work by the general investigation unit of Melun Val de Seine.

The police had been alerted by the Treasury, which had noted suspicious transfers of money, says

La République de Seine-et-Marne

.

The investigations showed that the professional would have embezzled a total of 345,000 euros.

The 38-year-old man would have cashed for this personally or on the accounts of his children no less than 179 checks written by Parisians to pay their rent.

The payments were made to a capital landlord for whom the suspect worked.

Noting irregularities, the company had dismissed its accountant.

Two employers, one scam

However, he would not have hesitated to use the same fraudulent method again after being hired by a Parisian social landlord.

The defendant admitted the facts while in police custody.

He will be tried next December and has already been the subject of a tax adjustment.
