For the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, the Minister in charge of the Wakamiya Expo met with Kerkenzes, the Secretary-General of the BIE = Bureau International des Expositions, who is visiting Japan, and confirmed that he would proceed with preparations in close cooperation.
At the meeting, the Minister in charge of the Expo Wakamiya said, "The name of the official character has been decided to be'Myakumyaku', and the momentum is very exciting. I would like to have further support and make the Expo a great success."
"Unfortunately, Corona is not a thing of the past, but I hope that the Osaka-Kansai Expo will be the next destination for people all over the world," said Kerkenzes.
They then confirmed that they would work closely together to prepare for the success of the Expo.
According to the Cabinet Secretariat, Secretariat Kerkenzes will visit Osaka Prefecture from the 21st to meet with Governor Yoshimura and others, as well as to visit the planned venue.
