"According to the outcome of the Astana process negotiations, the United States should at the present time leave the areas east of the Euphrates River in Syria," Erdogan said - in statements to reporters on board the plane - upon his return from his official visit to Iran.

The Turkish president explained that the withdrawal of US forces from east of the Euphrates River in Syria will make "the fight against terrorism easier," adding that Turkey, Russia and Iran "will definitely unite against the terrorist organizations PKK (PKK) and BYD. (PYD) (the Democratic Union Party, a branch of the Workers' Party) and the "YPG" (Kurdish People's Protection Units), which are currently exploiting oil wells east of the Euphrates and selling them to the regime.

The Turkish president accused the United States of continuing to support "terrorist organizations, including during the era of previous presidents, with thousands of trucks loaded with weapons, equipment and ammunition."
