It is an investigation at the Special Prosecutor's Chamber that is now culminating in the indictment that has been submitted to Eskilstuna District Court.

According to the prosecutor, the two police officers turned off the recording of the interrogation and then gave the witness information about the ongoing murder investigation.

The interrogation was part of the investigation into the murder of a man in Årbyskogen in Eskilstuna 2018, where two suspects were first acquitted in the district court and where the hearings in the Court of Appeal were then suspended after shortcomings in the investigation were revealed.

Among other things, the identity of a witness in the investigation had been revealed as a secret informant to the police.

Police deny crime

The police subsequently reported themselves and since October 2021, the case has been investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office.

- I have made the assessment that these police officers have committed misconduct, says chief prosecutor Martin Tidén to SVT.

He believes that the police together have acted biased and made mistakes when they did not document what was said when the recording of the interrogation was suspended.

The two police officers deny the crime.
