“Washington’s desire to stir up the conflict”: the Russian Embassy responded to US statements about a special operation

The Russian Embassy in Washington, commenting on the US accusations against Moscow of “annexing” Ukrainian lands, stressed that Russia is returning peace to the liberated territories of Ukraine.

“Allegations about the predatory nature of the Russian military special operation are fundamentally false.

We are returning peace to the liberated territories, creating conditions for a normal life and observance of the equal rights of citizens, regardless of ethnicity and language," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The embassy emphasized that the Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the population of the liberated territories will make their own decision about their future.

Earlier, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, said that Russia was laying the groundwork for the "annexation" of the territories of Ukraine under its control.

According to him, if these plans are implemented, new sanctions will be imposed against Russia.

The Russian embassy, ​​in turn, drew attention to the scale of assistance provided by the Russian side to residents of the liberated territories of Ukraine.

At the same time, 12 modern houses and a high-tech medical center are being built in Mariupol, and its commissioning is scheduled for autumn.

In addition, the supply of humanitarian aid does not stop.

As noted in the message, to date, more than 45,000 tons of humanitarian cargo have been sent to Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR.

As the embassy concluded, the new statements of the American administration "are another confirmation of Washington's desire to stir up the conflict as long as possible."

“The American ruling circles are driven not by concern for the Ukrainians, but by the desire to inflict maximum damage on Russia.

Our country will continue energetic work to establish a peaceful life on the liberated lands and fulfill all the tasks of the NMD, ”the Russian embassy summed up.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also reacted to Washington's new accusations.

According to her, the White House made a mistake when it imposed sanctions against Moscow "and without the regions of Ukraine becoming part of Russia."

“Therefore, another threat did not reach its goal.

On the contrary, it strengthened the determination to act according to the intended course, ”Zakharova wrote on Telegram.

Recall that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the complete liberation of the Kherson region on March 15.

Zaporozhye region, according to the military-civilian administration of the region at the beginning of July, was released by about 70%.

In the Kherson region, it was stated that the region would never return to Ukraine.

In particular, as Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region, said, preparations for a referendum continue in the region.
