The leader of the Tunisian party with Islamist influence Ennahdha Rached Ghannouchi presented himself Tuesday, July 19 at the judicial center of the fight against terrorism.
While he was President of Parliament until the dissolution of the latter by the Tunisian head of state on July 25, he is suspected of money laundering and terrorist financing.

Rached Ghannouchi is questioned about his links with the charity association (NIMAA) Naama Tounes, close to the Islamist party.
The cabinet of the Emir of Qatar would have granted him funding

this association, that is to say sums which would have been used to finance the Islamist party and to enrich its leader.
It is within the framework of this investigation that the assets of
Rached Ghannouchi
were frozen on July 7th.
As he entered the headquarters of the anti-terrorist pole, Rached Ghannouchi raised his hand to the sky, the V for victory directed towards
his supporters

Because a hundred supporters crowded in front of the building, chanting his name and brandishing signs in Arabic and English on which one could read: “
stop the political trials
”.
The accusations against the former speaker of parliament emerged last February, during a press conference held by the defense committee of Chokri Belaïd and Mohamed Brahmi, two left-wing leaders
murdered in Tunisia in 2013
.
From the beginning, Ennahdha and its leader have rejected all accusations against them.

Hamadi Jbeli
was arrested and released last month, also accused of money laundering.
He is due to audition on Wednesday July 20.
Tuesday evening, Rached Ghannouchi was still at the headquarters of the anti-terrorist pole.
Rached Ghannouchi is the subject of a second investigation, that on the assassination of Chokri Belaïs and Mohamed Brahmi in 2013. As part of this investigation, he is prohibited from leaving Tunisian territory.
