The government has put together a draft basic guideline for supporting the development of "specific important technologies" stipulated in the Economic Security Promotion Law enacted in May.


We are conducting research in 20 fields such as AI = artificial intelligence and biotechnology, and will narrow down the scope of support in the future.

The Economic Security Promotion Law includes a mechanism to provide financial support for research and development by the public and private sectors regarding "specifically important technologies" related to national security, but the target fields are clear. It wasn't.



On the 19th, the Liberal Democratic Party Headquarters held a headquarters on economic security, and the government presented a draft of basic guidelines for supporting the development of "specific important technologies."



According to this, we will proceed with research in 20 fields such as AI = artificial intelligence and biotechnology, semiconductor technology and quantum information science, and we will narrow down the targets to be supported preferentially from among them.



In addition, the conditions for designating "specific important supplies" to promote support for stable supply as a country were also shown.



At the meeting on the 19th, these proposals were approved as originally proposed, and the government intends to formally decide the basic guidelines in September after listening to the opinions of experts and proceeding with public comments. ..
