This was reported to TASS in the Russian diplomatic department.

“The Embassy is aware of the detention in the Indian port of Cochin of a Russian dry cargo ship, on board of which a military cargo for the Indian Armed Forces was delivered,” they said.

The diplomats appealed to the Indian Foreign Ministry for an official explanation of the circumstances of the incident.

“They also asked the diplomatic department to ensure unconditional observance of the rights of Russian shipowners and crew,” the embassy added.

As previously reported by the media, a court in India arrested a Russian dry cargo ship at the suit of an Estonian company allegedly for non-payment of the provided fuel.
