The first 16 candidates of the PP for mayors in localities of the Community of Madrid already have names and surnames.

A mixture of young profiles, deputies of the current Assembly of Madrid and some veteran to revalidate feuds that the

popular

ones left in the last regional elections

.

Hence, one of the premises that the president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has set is that these candidates be elected as soon as possible so that their names begin to be heard among the voters.

"We want the citizens of these municipalities to get to know these people first-hand in time," said the regional leader yesterday in her appearance on Génova Street to break down the first part of the mayors that the new party leadership has drawn up for Madrid, starting “with the municipalities with the most inhabitants”.

Although

neither Alcorcón nor Alcobendas appear among them, the sixth and ninth city with the largest population.

Those municipalities will know their candidate, according to Ayuso, "between September and October."

And

those in which the PP governs right now will do so “after Christmas”

.

But the intention of the popular is that it be as fast as possible, because they understand that this would allow them to gain ground from the rest of the parties.

Within the list of mayors proposed by the new leadership of the PP there are up to eight regional deputies:

Noelia Núñez

, who will attend for Fuenlabrada;

Manuel Bautista

, by Móstoles;

Judith Piquet

, for Alcalá de Henares;

Jose Maria Zarzoso

, for Parla;

Alberto Escribano

, by Arganda del Rey;

Janette Novo

, for Rivas Vaciamadrid;

Carla Grecian

, from Galapagar;

and

Alejandra Serrano

, for San Fernando de Henares.

Among those names, the presence of Manuel Bautista, general director of Concerted Education, Scholarships and Study Grants of the Community of Madrid, in Móstoles, has surprised, instead of

Mirina Cortés

, councilor in the town since 2015, president of the local PP and candidate in the last municipal

Cortés affirms "not sharing the decision", although "he accepts it without reservation", and

claims "the magnificent work" of her team as value to "recover the government of the city from 2023"

.

The second surprise has come in Getafe, where the current president of the formation and spokesman in the Municipal Council,

Carlos González Pereira

, will not be the candidate in the municipal elections of 2023. Instead, Ayuso has appointed councilor

Antonio José Mesa

, one of the men loyal to the president.

In its neighbor Leganés, it will be the president of the party who will assume the position of mayor.

Miguel Ángel Recuenco

, who already presided over the PP Congress in Madrid last June, will repeat as a candidate for the municipal elections in the town.

The 16 names are completed by

Lucía Fernández

in San Sebastián de los Reyes,

Francisco Becerra

in Coslada,

David Conde

in Valdemoro,

Salomón Aguado

in Pinto,

Jesús Muñoz

in Paracuellos del Jarama and

Héctor Añover

in Ciempozuelos.

“We believe that the PP is more necessary than ever at a very delicate moment in the country.

I have asked them to be on the street and more focused than ever on the economies of families and on the people who can be left behind," Ayuso said yesterday.

A group in which young profiles stand out because, as Ayuso remarked, "the municipal policy requires a lot of effort, it is to go door to door and street to street."

Although there are also "people with experience" among whom

the president did not rule out the presence of one of her current advisers in the Government of the Community of Madrid.
