Putin: The United States is taking a "destructive approach" in Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today, Tuesday, that "the work of Russia, Iran and Turkey to resolve the crisis in Syria is generally effective."

At the tripartite meeting of heads of state of the guarantor states of the Astana process, Putin considered that "ISIS and other forms of terrorism must end forever in Syria."

Putin stressed that "it is important that the Syrians are ready to look for ways to solve and negotiate."

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke of the destructive approach of Western countries led by the United States in Syria.

He stressed that the situation in the territories not under the control of the Syrian authorities was "a cause for concern."

"We see that the real threats to crime, extremism and separatism stem from these regions, and the destructive approach of Western countries led by the United States contributes significantly to this."

Putin indicated that the next tripartite summit should be held in the Astana format in Russia.

"I also want to note that the next summit of the Astana trio is supposed to be held in our country, and we will, of course, be glad to see all of you, dear colleagues, in Russia," Putin said.
