“The FMBA of Russia, on behalf of the head of the agency, Veronika Skvortsova, has developed a test system for detecting the monkeypox virus,” TASS reports.

Currently, the test system is being tested and is being prepared for registration.

Earlier, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that 9200 cases of monkeypox have already been detected in 63 countries of the world.

On July 12, the first case of monkeypox was confirmed in Russia.

The disease was detected in a citizen who returned from a trip to Europe.

The Ministry of Health of Russia has sent guidelines to the regions on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox.
