Senator Pushkov pointed to attempts by British Foreign Minister Truss to promote Putin in the name

He called the prospect of a meeting between the head of British diplomacy and Putin meaningless.

“The point in such a meeting with the participation of Truss is zero.

Truss is trying to earn points for herself before the election of the leader of the conservatives and the prime minister of the country ... There is absolutely nothing more behind her statement, ”Pushkov wrote in his Telegram. 

Earlier, the head of the British Foreign Office announced her readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit if she was elected prime minister.

As noted in the Kremlin, Putin may attend the G20 summit in Indonesia in person.
