Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the Russian group "Vostok", which performs tasks during a special military operation in Ukraine.

As stated in the Ministry of Defense, at the command post, the commander of the Vostok group, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, reported to Shoigu about the current situation and the process of fulfilling the assigned combat missions.

Shoigu instructed the command of the Vostok group to concentrate their efforts on defeating the enemy’s long-range weapons, from which Donbass is being shelled.

“Army General Sergei Shoigu, noting the strengthening of the group’s strike capabilities, instructed the commander to prioritize the destruction of enemy long-range missiles and artillery with high-precision weapons, from which residential areas of Donbas settlements are being shelled and intentional arson of fields with wheat, as well as storage facilities with grain ", the minister said.

Earlier, Shoigu inspected the Russian groupings of troops "South" and "Center".

As stated in the Ministry of Defense on the morning of July 16, the head of the department heard reports from the commander of the South grouping, General of the Army Sergei Surovikin and the commander of the Center group, Colonel General Alexander Lapin, on the current situation, the nature of the enemy’s actions and the course of the Russian Armed Forces’ combat missions.

Losses of farmers in the Zaporozhye region

Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration (MAC) of the Zaporozhye region, said that the agrarians of the region will lose hundreds of thousands of tons of grain as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the fields.

“This is really a big problem, because the losses will amount to hundreds of thousands of tons of unharvested grain,” TASS quoted Rogov as saying.

Earlier, Rogov said that this year in the territories of the Zaporozhye region, which are under the control of the Russian Federation, grain yields increased by 12-13%.

At the same time, he noted that there are difficulties with harvesting due to the lack of agricultural machinery.

According to Rogov, the Ukrainian military is purposefully shelling the fields with incendiary ammunition.

Arson fields, according to the representative of the CAA, are engaged in sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Rogov added that similar groups are active in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

Point of shelling of gumconvoys and caches with weapons in Kherson

In Kherson, Russian units discovered a firing point and a cache with weapons of Ukrainian saboteurs, from where they fired on humanitarian convoys, RIA Novosti reports citing a source in law enforcement agencies.

“The position of the firing point was chosen in such a way that a checkpoint and a section of a regional highway along which military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces, humanitarian convoys, as well as vehicles transporting agricultural products, fell into the firing sector,” the agency said.

In addition, local residents told the military about three unidentified men who were inspecting a gas station under construction on one of the streets of the city.

As a result, the security forces managed to find a cache of weapons and ammunition.

“One of the eyewitnesses saw that these people had bulky things in their hands.

As a result of a search of one of the buildings, a cache was found, including one with two MANPADS,” the source said.

It is noted that both Igla MANPADS did not have launchers.

An RPG-18 grenade launcher, more than 2,000 5.45 mm rounds of ammunition, AKM and AKSU assault rifles, three F-1 and seven RGD grenades, 400 g of TNT and other weapons were also found in the cache.
