The police rushed to the Lorensborg district in Malmö after several residents in the area sounded the alarm about bangs.
At the scene, it was found that an apartment had been shelled.
- I can confirm that there has been a shooting at an address there.
Shots have been fired inside a stairwell and an apartment door is damaged, says Magnus Lefèvre, officer on duty at the police.
The alarm came in just before half past one during the night towards Monday.
No one was injured in the incident and no one has been arrested.
The police have cordoned off at the address to secure tracks and will conduct a technical investigation at the crime scene.
They also talk to any witnesses in the property.
- We have made bargains, but I will not go into that, says Magnus Lefèvre.
It is unknown if there is any threat against anyone at the address.
- It is part of our investigation to clarify if there is anything connected to someone at the address, but it is too early to comment on, says Magnus Lefèvre.
