Stremousov told TASS that an editor from Ivano-Frankivsk, who had Russian citizenship, worked with him.

“And, frankly, this is a political reprisal against her due to the fact that the person was somehow connected with me.

She was the chief editor of my news agency in Ivano-Frankivsk,” he said.

According to him, the woman worked as an editor in his Tavria News agency.

He also clarified that he did not maintain any contact with her after the start of the Russian special military operation.

He stressed that almost all of his former employees were detained by the Security Service of Ukraine.

“This once again shows that the Ukrainian side did not care about the international rights of journalists.

I am very sorry that she received five years, although she had nothing to do with ... my current activities, ”Stremousov emphasized.

Earlier it became known that investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee would ask the Ministry of Defense for information that Kyiv had ordered punitive raids in Nikolaev for public reprisals against pro-Russian citizens.

The department will study this data in the framework of criminal cases.
