Izumi, the representative of the Constitutional Democratic Party, who reduced the number of seats in the Upper House election, will continue to work as a representative to rebuild the party.

In the previous Upper House election, the Constitutional Democratic Party reduced 6 seats from before the election to only acquire 17 seats, and the proportional representation's votes were more than 1 million votes lower than the Nippon Ishin no Kai.

Representative Izumi said, "We made the utmost efforts in a harsh environment where the opposition parties are not in line," and will continue to rebuild the party as a representative.

On the other hand, while some members of the party understand that there is no reason to change the representative in half a year, the party said, "It is a big responsibility to significantly reduce the votes of proportional representation from last year's House of Representatives election." There are also voices asking the responsibility of the executive department.

Mr. Izumi will conclude the election by holding a general meeting of both Houses of the party at the beginning of next month, but the focus will be on showing concrete measures to rebuild the party and building a party-raising posture.
