After months of discussions and a proposal for an agreement submitted two weeks ago by the Chadian government, politico-military actors slammed the door of dialogue in Doha on Saturday, July 16, between armed groups and the Chadian government.

Before being able to return to the negotiating table and as the inclusive national dialogue approaches, they are asking the Qatari mediator to put in place “

healthy

 ” conditions for these discussions.

Members of the Doha, Rome and National Coordination for Change and Reform (CNCR) groups accuse the Chadian government of harassment, corruption, misinformation and even threats: they believe that the authorities are creating “

a bad working climate

 ”

for these negotiations

.

Consequently, they suspend their participation until they have won their case, in particular with the Qatari mediator.

The problem being that while the Rome group, which brings together the main rebels, shares a united position, the

other groups

are divided on the issue.

And the Chadian government has understood this well.

Questioned by RFI, the spokesperson and Minister of Communication Abderaman Koulamallah rejects these accusations and affirms that it is time "

to move forward

 ".

According to him, the majority of the participants in the negotiations are on the same wavelength and an

agreement is close

.

He also confirmed that the date of the inclusive national dialogue will no longer change: with or without the protesters of the day, it will begin on August 20.
