Staff leave the train industry - the union calls for action

- The situation is critical.

There is a lack of train drivers, train hosts, change staff and also other staff needed to keep the operation going, says Martin Alnebring who is chairman of Seko Spårtrafik in Örebro County.

He also points to the difficulties of finding substitutes.

- There is always a lack of staff before the summer, especially train drivers where it is difficult to find summer substitutes because a long training period is required, says Alnebring.

Calls for more action

The reasons for the lack of staff are several, but according to Seko, for example, it is about people leaving due to poor flexibility in schedules and more and more threatening situations for train hosts.

To attract staff back, the union is calling for more action, both from employers and politicians.
