Shamma Al Mazrouei: "The UAE places young people at the center of its interests, trusts their abilities and secures their potential."

The Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, said that the UAE government, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, places youth at the heart interests, and trusts in their abilities, believes in their abilities, and that they are the source of hope, and works to involve them in leading quality initiatives and projects and designing solutions to future challenges.

She added that successive global crises have produced a new generation of young people who are able to participate constructively in shaping the future of nations through innovation, effective values, and joint action.

She added, "This generation of young people has the ability to redefine the concept of responsibility and deal with international changes, so that they themselves are shaping future global trends and reaching sustainable solutions to the challenges facing their societies."

This came during her comment on the youth session for Emirati students, which was held at the General Consulate of the United Arab Emirates in New York in the United States of America, entitled “Strengthening the capabilities of young people to make a humanitarian impact,” on the sidelines of the high-level political forum on the sustainable development goals at the United Nations Headquarters. In New York, in which a high-ranking official delegation from the UAE participated, where he presented the report of the second voluntary national review of the UAE on the country's achievements and initiatives in order to achieve the sustainable development goals.

The open session with the youth was attended by the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals, and head of the Emirati delegation participating in the forum’s work, Abdullah Nasser Lootah, who said, addressing the youth in the session: “The UAE leadership trusts in the capabilities and energies Our youth, betting on them, and listening to them, and today we are in a race with the world to enhance our capabilities and develop ourselves, and the youth category is an essential pillar in the government’s initiatives and policies in various fields.”

He continued: "Your role is great in humanitarian work and in achieving the sustainable development goals in general, and each of you has great potential and power to contribute to accelerating the implementation of the global goals. The UAE has launched many initiatives to empower Emirati youth in the fields of humanitarian work locally and globally and to accelerate the implementation of the sustainable development goals." ».
