As they say in a message on the website of the Russian Cabinet, the decision of the government terminates practical interaction with the Northern Council of Ministers and the implementation of projects of this organization in Russia.

The government explained that this step is a response to the unfriendly actions of the Nordic states against Russia, as well as illegal sanctions restrictions.

The Nordic Council of Ministers includes Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Earlier, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the United States announced that the Arctic Council intends to start work on a limited basis - within the framework of projects that do not involve Russia's participation.
