The Russian delegation urged Western countries to decide what they really want: negotiations or "victory" for Ukraine.

“So far, they are doing everything to prevent Kyiv from moving on to the peace process, pumping it with Western weapons, which are subsequently used to bomb cities and destroy civilians,” reads a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who entered the fight for the post of prime minister of the kingdom, reiterated in her election video that she intends to seek the "defeat" of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Before that, she had already stated that negotiations with Russia could be conducted "only after defeating her" in Ukraine.

The same opinion was expressed by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell: he advocated a military solution to the Ukrainian crisis.

On April 11, he reaffirmed the EU's desire to resolve the Ukrainian crisis "on the battlefield."
