Putin signed the law on countermeasures in response to discrimination against Russian media abroad

According to the law, the Prosecutor General of Russia and his deputies, in particular, have the right to decide to ban the activities of foreign media in Russia, as well as to suspend the license of Russian media for publishing false information for up to three months (up to six months in case of repeated violation).

Earlier, Roskomnadzor, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, restricted access to the website of the German newspaper Die Welt.
