Putin allowed shopping centers to terminate contracts with foreign tenants who left Russia

As reported by RIA Novosti, such a protective measure is being introduced for landlords who have faced a decrease in rental payments by more than 50% from tenants who have suspended the use of the leased property.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Council of Shopping Centers, Dmitry Moskalenko, commented on the law adopted by the State Duma, which allows shopping centers to demand from stores and restaurants of brands that have left Russia the previous size of rent or termination of contracts without penalties.

In March, the head of the Union of Shopping Centers, Bulat Shakirov, told Izvestia that the shopping centers intended to transfer all foreign retailers that had suspended their activities in Russia to a fixed rent.
