July 14-17, the World Cup in walking football takes place in Florence, Italy.

A total of 26 nations, both ladies and gentlemen, participate in different age groups.

In class 70+, only four nations participate;

Italy, Australia, England and Sweden.

The Swedish squad has three players who make their debut in the yellow-blue match jersey in the autumn of age.

The team is led by Torgny "Togga" Carlsson who is the national team captain together with the ambassador for football, Roland "Rollo" Nordqvist.

The duo has been arranging puzzle football since the beginning of 2019, one year after the sport came to Sweden.

Walking football is for everyone

Walking football differs somewhat from ordinary football.

It is forbidden to run, physical play is not allowed, no height balls or nods are allowed and the players are usually much older than usual, in most cases over 60 years but also up to the age of 80.

- Everyone can participate, that is the point of gift football.

Some of us have played as juniors, others are beginners, says Roland "Rollo" Nordqvist.
