After the statements of a former US official, the United Nations opposes any undemocratic transfer of power

The United Nations affirmed its opposition to any forced change of power in any country, commenting on the statements of former US National Security Adviser John Bolton, about his involvement in organizing coups around the world.

Bolton, the former National Security Adviser (2018-2019) in the administration of Donald Trump (2017-2021), said in an interview with CNN that he helped plan coups in a number of countries.

In response to a question about whether the United Nations condemns such behavior, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations Farhan Haq said: "We have no comment on this. In general, we oppose any undemocratic transfer of power in countries."
