A man was severely beaten by six men one evening in December 2021. A group of men sought out the man in an apartment, where they confronted him about an alleged debt and missing drugs.

Interrupted by the police

The group of men then dragged the man into a car and immediately began beating him.

The beating continued in several places on Pettersberg in Västerås, including a parking lot and outside the canteen at the primary school Trollbackaskolan, where the man was beaten, kicked and knelt all over by several people.

He was also threatened with a gun.

The beating was stopped after witnesses alerted the police.

A police patrol drove the beaten man to hospital where it was established, among other things, that his nose was broken.

Six men are sentenced to prison

Västmanland District Court convicts six men for having abused, blackmailed and threatened the man.

The evidence against the six men includes DNA traces of blood from the injured man on several of the convicted men's shoes and clothes.

Four of the men are imprisoned for between 4 years and 5 years and 9 months, at most.

Two of the men receive shorter prison sentences of around 1.5 years.

The victim who lives protected in a secret place receives SEK 400,000 in damages.
