Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced the severance of diplomatic relations and economic contacts with the DPRK

"In response to such an unfriendly act, Ukraine announces the severance of diplomatic relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea," the statement on the Foreign Ministry's website reads.

Earlier, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea recognized the independence of the Lugansk People's Republic, as well as the Donetsk People's Republic.
