In his appeal, the political scientist noted that in recent years the state has taken a number of important decisions aimed at supporting citizens working in rural areas.

So, in the fall of 2019, a new article appeared in the Labor Code of Russia, which, in particular, gives women the right to take one additional day off during each month without pay.

However, for men working in rural areas, the legislation currently does not provide for such a benefit.

At the same time, they often perform hard physical work, including under difficult weather conditions, Orlov noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to consider the advisability of amending the labor legislation in terms of giving men working in rural areas the same right to one additional day off during the month without pay,” the text of the appeal says.

In the spring, the Russian government expanded the Zemsky Doctor and Zemsky Paramedic programs.

For young doctors working in remote and hard-to-reach areas, the payment will be from 1 million to 1.5 million, for paramedics, midwives and nurses - from 500 thousand to 750 thousand rubles.

At the same time, for the Far East, the Far North and the regions of the Arctic zone, payments will amount to 2 million and 1 million rubles.
