Foreign Minister Hayashi met with UNDP, President of the United Nations Development Program Steiner, who is visiting Japan, and confirmed that he would work closely with Ukraine to support reconstruction.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the situation in Ukraine.
He confirmed that he would cooperate closely in promoting reconstruction assistance such as the disposal of unexploded ordnance and debris in Ukraine, which was damaged by the Russian military invasion.
Minister Hayashi also expressed his desire to support the development of African countries affected by the food crisis through the TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development) to be held in Tunisia next month.
In response, Governor Steiner expressed his intention to further strengthen cooperation with Japan in the field of African development.
