• The July 14 festivities are making a comeback in Nantes.

  • In addition to the firefighters' ball on Wednesday and the fireworks from the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge on Thursday, it will also be a party in many towns in the agglomeration.

Want to go out on these Wednesday or Thursday national holiday?

After two years of cancellations linked to the health crisis, many free activities are planned in Nantes and in a good number of cities in the agglomeration.

20 Minutes

takes stock, not exhaustive, of what awaits you.

Jiggle at the firemen's ball

The essential Nantes firefighters' ball is back.

Several thousand people are expected Wednesday evening in the courtyard of the Gouzé barracks (Saint-Clément district), which will take on the air of a guinguette from 7 p.m.

Two orchestras will perform for the traditional event, which will last until the early morning (grills and refreshments on site).

The same evening, several dance evenings are organized elsewhere in the metropolis, and there will be something for everyone: Brazilian music at La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (8.30 p.m.), children's ball then dance evening in Bouaye (9 p.m. ), West Indian rhythms in Indre (10 p.m.)…

Enjoy for a whole evening

Because Wednesday is also the day that several municipalities have chosen to organize a festive end of the afternoon, often with a fireworks display as the highlight.

In Rezé, for example, the party will start at 5 p.m. in the Mahaudières park (musical entertainment, street arts, etc.) before the sky lights up around 11 p.m.

In Carquefou, it's at the Château de la Fleuriaye (makeup, orchestra, etc.) that it takes place from 7 p.m., again with fireworks, on the theme of space travel.

In Saint Herblain, the festivities will take place in the Parc de la Carrière.

For those who prefer to go out on Thursday evening, head to Station cloud in San Sebastian.

Bouguenais will also offer a great program on the evening of the 14th: the public can also vote for the song of the grand finale, visible from the Piano'cktail.

Marvel at the fireworks

If the fireworks will therefore be numerous in the four corners of the agglo (Vertou and Couëron also organize theirs on July 13) it is in Nantes that the public will be the most numerous, Thursday evening.

The pyrotechnic show will be fired from 11 p.m. from the Anne-de-Bretagne bridge with the theme “cultural route through the city of Nantes”.

The town hall indicates that it has chosen “biodegradable materials and in lesser quantities, in order to reduce in particular the waste linked to the firing of the fireworks”.

Attention, a perimeter prohibited to traffic will be installed all around the bridge, all day.

Some 40,000 people are expected.
