• Debate Sánchez snatches his role from Podemos: taxes on the Ibex and more subsidies

Pedro Sánchez yesterday counterprogrammed Isabel Díaz Ayuso in her two most popular educational offers: scholarships and robotics.

The President of the Government already has his scholarship check, like the president of Madrid, which will mean an extra 400 euros for a million students over 16 years of age who already enjoy aid in Baccalaureate, FP or University.

Sánchez advanced during the State of the Nation Debate that these students will have 100 euros per month in addition to those they already receive.

In principle, he limited them only to between September and December, but sources from the

Ministry of Education

later added that it will finally be done throughout the year, which means a total of 1,000 euros per course.

In other words, Minister Pilar Alegría amended Sánchez.

The current average scholarship is 2,173 euros per year (2,892 euros for university students and 1,606 euros for non-university students), so the aid means adding 46% more to this amount.

Altogether, it adds an additional 1,000 million euros to the 2,134 million already budgeted for scholarships and study aid for the 2022/23 academic year.

Unlike the Ayuso measure, the supplement is only for low incomes (a couple with a child cannot earn more than 38,800 euros) and is more demanding (at least the scholarship holder must get a 5 and the more money the better grades they get, the more money they get , while in those of

Madrid

it is only requested not to have repeated the year).

Sánchez did not miss the opportunity to use Ayuso's scholarship check to poke Feijóo from the stands: "After the scholarship for the rich, are they going to propose an Imserso for millionaires in Bora Bora?"

On the other hand, Sánchez announced yesterday more computer programming for all students, starting from the same stage of Infant.

It is a new response to the

Community of Madrid

, which has championed the teaching of computational language since, in 2015/2016, with Cristina Cifuentes, she put a specific subject on Technology, Programming and Robotics in ESO.

Sánchez wants six million Infant, Primary and ESO students to learn

coding

and robotics.

Currently, there is a specific subject in ESO, but not in previous stages.

Now these contents are going to be reinforced in this and other stages by giving more resources to educational centers, training and supporting teachers and preparing teaching materials.

There will be 356 million euros for teachers to learn to program.

The great novelty is that, of this amount, 120 million euros will be given to the Autonomous Communities so that they hire an unprecedented figure: classroom assistants.

They are specialists in programming and robotics who will give technical assistance to teachers in their classes and will train them in robotics and

coding

.
