Copper thieves raided Kyrkhult: "It was expected"

The unknown thieves managed to escape with copper in the form of parts from the church's downpipe.

Kyrkhult's parish has now reported the theft to the police.

- We have suffered from theft before a couple of years ago, but then it was about twice as much we lost, says Martin Ottosson, who is a caretaker in Kyrkhult parish.

Now the congregation has been in contact with sheet metal workers, to replace the lost copper parts with sheet metal instead.

It is now a long time since the church bought new copper, it is no longer profitable due to all the thefts.

- They probably prioritize us quite high to get it fixed, but it is after all holiday time, says Martin Ottosson.
