On the evening of March 13, several people had heard gunfire in Årby.

At first, the police could not find anyone injured, but one person was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man was released, but four days later the police were able to arrest a 21-year-old man who is now charged with attempted murder.

The man is also charged with a felony and drug offense.

He admits both of the crimes but denies the attempted murder.

Pushed the shooter and hid the weapon

A 17-year-old, who was arrested at the end of March, is also charged.

He is said to have moved the firearm from the crime scene to remove evidence.

He is charged with protecting criminals and serious gun crime, but denies the crimes.

A third person, a 23-year-old man, has, according to the prosecutor, driven the shooter to the crime scene on an electric vehicle and is suspected of aiding and abetting a serious weapon crime.

He is also said to have transported the firearm away from the crime scene and is therefore also charged with protecting a criminal.

The man, however, denies any involvement.

Connected to conflict

The shooting at Årby center was the fourth in Eskilstuna since the turn of the year and the police linked the shootings to the escalated conflict between criminal networks with links to the drug trade that is taking place in Eskilstuna.
