“Our information indicates that the Iranian government is preparing to rapidly provide Russia with up to several hundred drones, including drones that can carry weapons,” TASS quoted him as saying.

According to information available in Washington, Iran plans to train the Russian military in the use of these weapons in early July.

“It is unclear whether Iran has already supplied any of these drones to Russia,” Sullivan added.

The US has previously imposed sanctions on 13 companies, two offshore tankers and two individuals associated with Iran's oil sector.
