The Järva area in northwest Stockholm has for several years been one of the places hardest hit by gang crime and fatal shootings.

But it is also one of the few places in the country where social services and the police now work together in a collaborative group aimed at children and young people at risk.

"With the help of collaboration, we have probably been able to prevent someone from being shot dead, or shooting someone else," says social secretary Magdalena El-Sayed.

Four days a week, they sit side by side in the police station in Rinkeby and have been doing so for just over two years.

In this way, they can share information more quickly and get continuously updated status images about young people in and around the criminal networks.

This in turn leads to faster efforts, according to El-Sayed.

But before the group came into being, there were major shortcomings in the cooperation but also a widespread ignorance about the authorities' different working methods and methods, according to police Lina Herting.

- Previously, we from the police have thought, why does the social services do nothing?

Why do they not act?

Hear Lina Herting, police, and Magdalena El-Sayed, social secretary, tell more in the video above about the group's work in the Järva area.
