A violent fire broke out on the second and last floor of a building in Puteaux (Hauts-de-Seine) during the night from Friday to Saturday around 1:30 am.

The first elements showed that a short circuit would have caused the fire.

This quickly spread to the roof and then to the neighboring building, four stories high, reports

.

About sixty firefighters intervened on the spot, with five fire hoses.

Three hours were necessary for them to overcome the flames, in particular because of the partial destruction of a frame.

A firefighter was slightly injured.

A dozen residents were surprised in the middle of the night.

A safe evacuation

They were evacuated by the firefighters according to the rescue procedure, either via the ladder or by the stairs.

Flight hoods allowed them to avoid poisoning by fumes.

Two residents of the building where the fire started have been relocated to the hotel.

The other evacuated residents were able to return to their homes.
