We have learned, with great sadness, of the death of Antoinette Delafin, former journalist for RFI's digital editorial staff.

Born in 1950 in Besançon, Antoinette Delafin was a journalist passionate about the African continent where she had produced numerous field reports.

A passion that sometimes led her to difficult and remote areas, notably in Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso or Côte d'Ivoire.

Antoinette has collaborated on numerous publications including

At the end of the 1990s, she was part of the team of the weekly 

.  

At the same time, she began to collaborate with RFI, alongside her lifelong accomplice, Madeleine Mukamabano, the first producer of the program "The African debate", with which she produced the weekly program "Echos of Africa - reports". . 

Antoinette Delafin has also collaborated with the “Magnetic Nights” of France Culture, worked at the United Nations Public Information Department and with the International Parliament of Writers.  

She also worked for several years for RFI's magazine press agency "Medias France Intercontinents" (MFI), which she then coordinated, before joining RFI's digital editorial staff where she edited the "L' Weekly”.   

Antoinette Delafin has participated in several books, including

 (Hachette Littératures, 2006).

His great adventure will have been the realization of the only cinema documentary ever shot on

 (2010, co-directed with Dramane Cissé).

All our thoughts go out to his family, his daughters Lucie and Émilie, his four grandchildren and his friends.
