What echo will the announcements of foreign investments from the Choose France summit this Monday, July 11 in Versailles, have when the French president finds himself at the heart of revelations about the muscular lobbying practices of Uber when he was still a minister?

Alongside the big bosses of foreign groups, Emmanuel Macron is supposed to announce nearly 7 billion euros of investment in projects in new technologies and strategic sectors.

For this fifth edition of the Choose France

summit

, the showcase is always the same: the splendid setting of the Palace of Versailles.

But while 180 CEOs of large foreign groups will be present, the image risks being tarnished by the scandal revealed by many media, and in particular the active role that the president would have played when he was Minister of the Economy under the presidency of François Hollande, in the rise of Uber in France, despite its controversial practices.

6.7 billion of investments

Will we hear the announcements that will be made this Monday afternoon by these great leaders?

Investments of 6.7 billion euros and the creation of 4,000 permanent jobs.

They come on top of the 4 billion euros already announced last January.

Many projects in research and development, particularly in the health sector with 10 bosses present and 3 billion invested.

At a time when the issues of industrial sovereignty and relocation are proclaimed at European level, France wants to appear as a champion of industrial projects.

It is indeed the first destination in Europe, as well as for foreign direct investment for the 3rd consecutive year.
