Seven out of ten French people intend to go on vacation this summer, despite inflation and the drop in purchasing power.

Sea, Europe, North Africa... the destinations are numerous, even if the fear of a new wave of Covid makes holidaymakers want to discover new places, without going too far from home.

Seven out of ten French people intend to leave this summer for classic seaside destinations in Europe.

Nine million French people have booked their holidays abroad, particularly in Europe and North Africa.

"There is a stronger enthusiasm for medium-haul destinations, in particular for fear of another wave of Covid, for fear of being stranded abroad and of being in an environment that we do not know. or the language spoken is not the one we practice", explains Jean-Pierre Mas, president of Travel Companies.

Country stays very popular this summer

Holidays by the sea remain the favorite destinations of the French in France.

"The French who go on vacation want authentic holidays. There are natural places, places where you can rest, recharge your batteries. We are in the preservation of the environment", underlines François de Canson, president of ADN Tourism.

With an average budget of €1,600 all-inclusive for a week for four, this season looks very promising.

Reservations for the summer are even up 20% compared to June.
