The media told about the identity of the shooter in the former Prime Minister of Japan Abe

According to TASS, referring to a Japanese television report, 41-year-old attacker Tetsuya Yamagami was detained immediately after he fired several shots at Abe.

The police are currently interrogating the detainee.

Earlier it was reported that Abe was assassinated during his street speech during the election campaign in the city of Nara.

Later, Japanese emergency services reported that Abe was "in a state of cardiac and pulmonary arrest" after the assassination attempt, but his death was not confirmed.
