A “historic” movement underlines FO.

The union has called for a strike among the 200 employees of Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, from Friday until Monday evening.

“Some 80 people have declared themselves to be on strike, in all trades, all statuses combined”, underlines the union representative FO.

This strike comes on the occasion of the first weekend of holiday departures.

, the airport management was unable to specify what impact this movement would have on passengers.

“I can't say anything, but almost half of the staff are on strike, so that will have consequences, that's for sure,” said the union representative.

Last negotiations without result

The demands relate to salary increases of 300 euros gross, to an increase in the workforce to cope with growing traffic, as well as “social benefits and the bringing into conformity of local agreements on hourly counting and on-call penalties.

“The last negotiations with the management have yielded nothing, and as long as there is no concrete, we will remain mobilized, warns the trade unionist.

On the continuation of the movement, it will depend on the progress of the negotiations, and on the employees themselves, who decide.

But we do not refrain from continuing the movement on other weekends, at the start of the school year or at Christmas.
